  • His Honour Judge Joshua Wilson, Federal Circuit Court, Melbourne, Australia

    Josh Wilson is a Judge of the Melbourne Federal Circuit Court. Prior to his appointment in October 2015, he practised as a barrister-at-law and Senior Counsel based in Melbourne, Australia. He holds undergraduate, masters and doctorate degrees in law. He has practised for over 30 years but he has practised exclusively as a barrister for the last 26 years, mainly in commercial and equity cases at trial and at appellate level in Supreme and Federal Courts across Australia. For over 20 years Josh has taught advocacy to other barristers in almost every state and territory in Australia and more recently to lawyers in the South Pacific including Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. He has also taught at Keble College, University of Oxford. Josh is a member of Council of one of the colleges of the University of Melbourne, he is a director of a large government owned railway company in Victoria, he sits as the chair of the Appeals Board for Football Federation of Victoria and he is a trustee of LawAid, a trust that assists unfunded plaintiffs in personal injuries litigation. He is also the author of two books, one a textbook entitled Extradition Law in Australia – Time for A Rational Approach and the second, a lighthearted look at the practice of the law, entitled All this Horsehair is Making me Itch. He is also the Convenor of International Engagement of the Commercial Bar Association.
